Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky PS3 Review

My review for Atelier Escha & Logy recently went live on PS4Attitude, and I'd be happy if you could check it out.

"Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky improves upon many of the series’ qualities, while adding a new playable character. But has Gust tried to juggle too much with the latest Atelier installment?

Fortunately, we can assure you that Gust has succeeded in making one of the best, if not the best, Atelier titles to date. With the upgrades to the synthesis system and combat, and changes to the imposed time limit, Atelier Escha & Logy helps the long-running JRPG series edge closer to the big leagues, where the likes of Final Fantasy and Shin Megami Tensei have always reigned supreme."

My top 10 games of 2013

Now that 2013 is over, I'm ready to talk about my top 10 games of 2013. I've been stewing over my choices for a few months now, but with some surprises towards the end of the year and much debating over placements, I think I'm now ready to post them.

PS4A Writer’s GOTY | Persona 4 Golden

I've published an article on PS4Attitude about my game of the year. If anybody follows my writings on PS4A then you'll already know this and my love for Persona 4, haha.

"I found the cast to be hugely likeable, funny and relatable, with Social Links allowing you to build a strong relationship with each character and help them with their personal problems. Although I felt this way quite early on in the game, by the end of it, I felt very strongly attached to each character and, no matter which ending I received, I felt very bittersweet about having to say goodbye to them. So much so that I started the game again and got just as glued to it, if not more, than I had the first time. And to be clear, I got the True Ending each time, because I can’t accept it any other way!"

Also, as this will be my last post of 2013, I wish you all a happy new year and hope that you all enjoy and have good luck in 2014. :)

Thanks and I hope you enjoy reading!

Tiny Brains PS4 review

I recently reviewed Tiny Brains for PS4Attitude, an excerpt can be read below.

"Tiny Brains is a puzzle game revolving around four rather cute lab animals as they carry out tests and make their bid for freedom. So, is developer Spearhead Games’ creation a success, or is it ultimately a failed experiment?

The story is simple – you’re a lab animal and are forced to do tests for your creator, and of course, things go topsy-turvy very quickly. It’s pretty generic stuff, and probably won’t captivate you, but as Tiny Brains is very family-orientated, it’s just enough to entertain children and humour adults."

OMG HD Zombies! PS Vita Review

I published a review for OMG HD Zombies! on PS4Attitude a few weeks ago.

"OMG HD Zombies! is the HD version of  PSP mini OMG-Z and, with this review, we look into whether it was worth breathing new life into it or if it would have been better off staying dead.

Although there is a story revolving around an experiment gone awry and your character trying to survive the recently-revived dead, it’s fairly generic and only serves to loosely string the levels together. The story itself is told in comic form which suits it well, with its crisp and vivid images that won’t spare you the brutality and gruesomeness of a zombie apocalypse."

Curve Studios - The joys of working with Sony [Interview]

Recently I interviewed Curve Studios, the studio behind Vita and PS3 ports of Lone Survivor, Thomas Was Alone, Stealth Inc and others, to discuss what it's like to work with Sony and what they plan to do in future.

You can read the interview here: http://ps4attitude.com/interview/2013/11/curve-studios-joys-working-sony-interview

This, alongside the interview with the lovely Jasper Byrne, the excellent mind behind Lone Survivor, was part of my first professional interview and I had a good time doing it and wish both parties the best of luck in their future endeavors.
